Akeredolu And Buhari Meet To Discuss Amotekun

Governor of Ondo State and Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, Rotimi Akeredolu, is set to meet with the President, Muhammadu Buhari, to examine the workings of the Operation Amotekun security unit initiated by the governors of the six states in the South-West.

According to a source, the president had scheduled a meeting with the governor to discuss the plans of the South-Western governors, the source explained, “The governor has an appointment to meet with Mr President on the Amotekun issue tomorrow (Tuesday).”

Although, when correspondents reached out to the Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Mr Donald Ojogo, he said he had no idea of any such meeting, he said, “I am hearing this from you. I just left a meeting with my governor and there was nothing like that. So, I don’t know where this is coming from.”

There had been a meeting scheduled earlier with the president but had to be postponed due to the president’s trip to the United Kingdom.
